Content Moderation
Every submission to EriHeroes is reviewed by human moderators before it appears in the archive. Here is how the process works.
The Review Pipeline
A new contribution arrives and enters the review queue. Contributors receive confirmation by email.
A moderator is actively reviewing the submission, verifying sources, checking for duplicates, and evaluating content quality.
The moderator has questions or needs additional details. The contributor is notified and can provide clarification.
The system or a moderator has identified a likely match with an existing profile. The contribution may be merged or used to enrich an existing profile.
The contribution passes review and is published to the public archive. The contributor is notified and their contribution count is updated.
The contribution does not meet content standards or cannot be verified. The contributor is notified with a reason. They may resubmit with corrections.
Our Principles
Historical accuracy is the highest priority. We do not publish unverifiable claims.
Every person documented was a real individual. Fictional or composite profiles are rejected.
Content that promotes division, political agendas, or hatred is never accepted.
Photos must depict the hero. Unrelated or offensive images are removed immediately.
Contributor identity choices (anonymous, nickname, private) are always respected.
Errors in approved profiles can be corrected via the 'Suggest a Correction' feature.
Review Timelines
Standard contributions are reviewed within 3–7 business days.
Contributions flagged as urgent (notable historical figures, time-sensitive events) are prioritized.
Guest contributions follow the same timeline as registered contributor submissions.
