About EriHeroes
EriHeroes is a living digital archive dedicated to preserving the names, stories, sacrifices, and contributions of Eritreans who shaped the course of their nation — at home and across the diaspora.
Our Mission
We believe every person who contributed to Eritrean freedom, independence, community survival, and historical memory deserves to be remembered with dignity and accuracy. This platform exists to ensure those names are not forgotten — whether they fell in battle, supported from afar, raised families during occupation, organized in diaspora communities, or served as spiritual and community leaders.
What We Archive
EriHeroes does not limit itself to any single era or type of contribution. The archive includes:
- •Martyrs and freedom fighters from 1961 through independence in 1991
- •Those who served during the 1998–2000 border war with Ethiopia
- •Those connected to the Tigray War period (2019–2022)
- •Former fighters who died after the liberation struggle
- •Civilians who supported the struggle from home or diaspora
- •Religious and community leaders whose work preserved Eritrean identity
- •Diaspora contributors who organized, funded, and supported from abroad
- •Any Eritrean whose contribution deserves to be remembered
Our Principles
Accuracy First
Every profile is reviewed before publication. We never publish unverified information without a clear disclosure.
Community-Powered
Community members can submit profiles. The archive team reviews and verifies every submission before it goes public.
Dignity Always
We treat every person in our archive with dignity. We protect the honor of those remembered and the privacy of their families.
No Exclusions
We do not limit contributions to one faction, one region, one era, or one type of service. All contributions matter.
“Contributors can suggest. The founder/admin decides what becomes official.”
EriHeroes is founder-controlled to protect the integrity, dignity, and accuracy of the archive. All contributions are reviewed before publication.
